8th Grade - 1 Semester
This hands-on project based course will be an extension of the Innovation Science and Math 1.0 & 2.0 classes, as well as the core 6th grade science and engineering standards. Students will actively develop essential 21st century skills (collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking) through guided independent problem solving and innovation using a variety of tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers and vinyl printers. Students will experience how innovation, creativity, teamwork, and persistence positively impact their daily life. The course will be divided into three separate capstone type experiences. One will focus on renewable energy, the second will be around medical design, and the last will be structural design.
